SPEAK OUT FOR SOLDIERS!
Peace Action is joining our affiliate organization
New Jersey Peace Action, veterans groups, and a host of other peace
and justice organizations in a campaign
to defederalize the National Guard.
The Bush Administration began this war by Federalizing
the National Guard to assign aspects of the occupation cost to State
budgets. Now Vermont, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey have spoken out
against this unjust and misleading policy of war.
This is also an opportunity to keep U.S. soldiers
at home where they belong. If successful, States who petition to
de-Federalize the guard would have the ultimate say over where those
troops are deployed.
We want to take this campaign to every state in
our union. Already, citizens in other states are petitioning their
State representatives. Please sign our petition calling for the
defederalization of the National Guard in New Jersey and then take
steps to bring similar measures to your home state.
Sign
this petition and lobby for similar legislation in your State.
