Military Contractors are War Profiteers

With an administration subject to no law and accountable only to itself and special interest lobbyists, defense contractors have been making billions for their CEO's on the blood of innocent citizens and soldiers. The problem is not just Blackwater or Haliburton, it is a political and economic system rooted in a defense industry with its hands deep in the pockets of our government. All contribute to the mounting death tolls and destruction. This can be stopped through Congressional oversight and responsible use of your money and time.

Blackwater: After the outrage brought about by the murder of innocent civilians by Blackwater employees, Congress is finally taking action to combat their influence and presence in Iraq while making them accountable for their actions. The House recently passed a bill making Blackwater employees subject to U.S. law. The bill was approved by a 389-to-30 vote, despite strong opposition from the White House.

The negative impact of Blackwater in Iraq is well known internationally. We can say no to corporations who exploit people and waste tax payer money. For fiscal year 2008 Bush requested $699 billion in weapons systems and military contracts instead of funding health care for children, and job-creating clean energy investments. Take the first step against Bush's priorities by investing in PEACE today.
