H.Con. Res 362: An Act of War with Iran

Dear Representative,
We, the undersigned organizations, reiterate our opposition to H. Con. Res. 362 which includes language that can be interpreted to recommend imposing a naval blockade on Iran and which increases likelihood of a military conflict in the Persian Gulf. Our groups support direct and comprehensive negotiations between the US and Iranian governments without preconditions and believe diplomacy and increased exchange represent the best way to address bilateral grievances.

We would like to draw your attention to a very important letter (below) to Members of Congress from three highly respected former US military leaders which outlines serious concerns over H. Con. Res. 362 and poses strong arguments against passage of this provocative and dangerous legislation.

We urge you not to support this legislation and encourage you to withdraw your co-sponsorship (as at least five of your colleagues already have done) or otherwise express your opposition to H. Con. Res. 362.
